COMING from nowhere to snatch victory, Springvale White Eagles swooped on a 3-2 win over Kingston City.
The match was decidedly one-sided until the dying minutes as Kingston City smashed the first two goals via Max Etheridge and Gino Defeo.
Facing a 0-2 deficit with 15 minutes left, Jamie de Smit let rip with shot better resembling cannon fire from the 25-yard mark that Kingston’s Sermin Sadikovski had no chance of stopping.
The next retaliation came as Milojevic beguiled City’s defence and was brought down in the box by an errant tackle by Andrew Doig.
Abel Fesseha had no trouble slotting the ensuing penalty to leave the last 10 minutes open for either side to snatch victory from the hands of a draw.
Milojevic made sure everyone would be shouting him drinks on Saturday night after completing the miraculous comeback. His bouncing, swirling shot to the near post was enough to push the White Eagles ahead and claim the points in a thrilling second-half most Springvale fans will never forget.
The win pushes Springvale to 10th on the NPL1 ladder with a 3-5 record.
Greater Dandenong’s winning ways continued with Dandenong City emerging victorious 2-1 over Sunshine George Cross with both scores coming via Goran Jozeljic.
