Dance shows rich tradition

Vishver Rangayathanaya dancers will perform next month.

STUDENTS from Dandenong, Cranbourne, Berwick and Hallam will perform in a traditional Sri Lankan dance concert next month.
Vishver Narthana Rekha 2013 – Nethra is on 1 September and will feature 175 students aged 4 to 25.
The Vishver Rangayathanaya dance group holds weekly classes at Hallam Primary School and Kerrie Neighbourhood House in Glen Waverley.
The two halls have turned into a training ground for the ambitious Academy for Traditional Sri Lankan Dancing group dancers.
The concert will include cultural dances from the students in collaboration with popular Sri Lankan artists such as Nuwan Gunasekara, Sheril Romen and Hemal Ranasinghe.
Vishver Narthana Rekha 2013 – Nethra will take place at the Besen Centre, 87-89 Station Street, Burwood, and tickets are $30.
