SCAMMERS impersonating Neighbourhood Watch volunteers are offering to paint house numbers on kerbs across Greater Dandenong.
Greater Dandenong Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) president Dawn Vernon received a call from a Dandenong North man who had paid $15 for the service and received the wrong number outside his property.
“I just want to warn others that they do not belong to us,” she said.
“If anyone could get the car rego number we can pass it onto the police and find out how they got their NHW identification.
“People should be aware of scams.”
NHW committee members and authorised volunteers in public wear high-visibility vests or shirts with NHW logos and carry identification.
