POWERS to move on hoon drivers and spectators were among local law changes passed at last week’s City of Greater Dandenong council meeting.
Police can now require any person at an unauthorised gathering to leave.
They lobbied the council for the amendment to try to curb hoon behaviour.
Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol’s Senior Sergeant Scott Roberts said “nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd” and that the frequent gatherings of a couple of hundred cars in Dandenong South were “going to end badly one of these nights”.
