Making the film cut

FILMMAKERS of all ages can now make their mark on Greater Dandenong.
Entries are now open for the City of Greater Dandenong’s newest art event – the Short Cuts Film Festival.
It will provide a platform for local community members, emerging artists and accomplished industry professionals to showcase their talent and share their stories.
Successful films will be screened in April next year, and the council is accepting entries in three categories.
Emerging covers current or recent film graduates with less than five years’ experience, while professional filmmakers can enter the open section.
The community/student category is for primary and secondary students and people with no professional filmmaking training.
The deadline for submissions is 5pm on 15 January. Visit www.greaterdandenong.com for a submission form.
The Short Cuts Film Festival is also looking for a curator. Visit the council website for a position description email expressions of interest to arts@cgd.vic.gov.au.
