Charity drive to hit the greens

BY JARROD McALEESE

A FULL field of 124 are scheduled to tee off at The Good Guys Dandenong’s 9th Annual Charity Golf Day at the Cranbourne Golf Club on Tuesday 10 November.
All proceeds will go to funding new facilities for the Dandenong Hospital, and store manager Allen Garb attributes the ongoing running of the event to the support received from the broader community.
“We have a loyal base of customers and suppliers. People enjoy the event and give generously,” Mr Garb said.
Prizes include Bosch, Fujitsu, Nikon and SONY goods, with four tickets to Jason Derulo’s upcoming concert at Rod Laver Arena on 20 November also up for grabs.
The opportunity to provide improved resources for hospital staff and care for patients is extremely fulfilling for Garb and his colleagues.
“People from the hospital come back every year,” Mr Garb said.
“We visit the hospital and see the equipment we’ve helped fund.
“We get to see the fruits of our work – these are very tangible rewards.”
Patrons will be treated to lunch, dinner and refreshments either side of 18 holes. Pre-dinner drinks with guest speakers will be held in the members’ lounge prior to the evening’s festivities.
