A LAUNDROMAT bandit is behind bars following a string of Greater Dandenong coin heists.
The Hampton Park man, 34, will answer charges of armed robbery, burglary and theft over incidents in Dandenong, Noble Park and Springvale between Tuesday 19 April and Saturday 23 April.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Nic Hayes said that on one occasion an innocent bystander was inside the Springvale laundry when the thief forced a coin machine off the wall.
He said the victim was frightened but unharmed.
The man was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 28 April.
