Greater Dandenong students joined together to build understanding and harmony.
Heartbeat of Life was the theme for the Greater Dandenong Combined Schools Interfaith Gathering at the Hoa Nghiem Buddhist Hall in Springvale on Tuesday 18 October.
Springvale Rise presented an introduction to faiths, and Keysborough Primary School acknowledged the traditional owners of the land.
Baha’i leaders spoke about their beliefs, followed by Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and Muslims.
Jewish leader and Greater Dandenong councillor Roz Blades explained Judaism and Sikh, Sathya Sai and Brahma Kumaris leaders followed.
Hoa Nghiem Buddhist School presented Jack and the Beanstalk, members of Noble Park English Language School sang Different People Stand Together, and the St Mary’s Catholic Primary School choir performed The Heartbreak Song and Pulse.
Keysborough Primary School students sang and danced to My Heart Will Go On, Emerson School kids sang Patience and People Get Ready, Dandenong Primary School covered Zip-a-dee-do-dah and Celebrate, and Noble Park’s St Anthony’s Catholic School sang Hearts on Fire.
Springvale Rise Primary School rounded out the entertainment with Put a Little Love in Your Heart.
