What is something people don’t know about you?
I spent almost five years living in outback Queensland and loved every minute of it!
What was your most memorable moment?
It was on 12 June 2006. I was inside the Fritz Walter stadium in Kaiserlslautern, Germany, to witness Australia’s first ever World Cup win.
Where’s your favourite place to eat in Greater Dandenong?
It’s hard to go past the combination of the pretzels and doughnuts of the Polish bakery.
What event, past, present or future, would you like to witness?
The fall of the Berlin Wall.
What is your favourite television show?
At the moment I’m loving Stranger Things. Monsters, a parallel universe and ‘80s pop culture references aplenty. What more could you want?
What attracted you to the legal profession?
To work in an area that connects with people. Maurice Blackburn allows me to do that by helping people with injuries. But I also get to hear wonderful life stories of such varying backgrounds from my clients which gives me such an essential level of perspective.
What six guests, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?
Well my three kids are the most entertaining people I know so they are a definite. Then Steve Jobs, Paul Keating and James Hird.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
In Rome I asked a local for directions to the closest market. I asked about the “marceta” but the word is “mercato”. “Marceta” is the word for brothel. Awkward.
What are your ties to Greater Dandenong and the South-East?
Born and bred. I grew up in Wheelers Hill, attended St Justin’s Primary School, Mulgrave Secondary College in Mulgrave, worked at Stud Park Shopping Centre in Rowville my teenage years and then spent time living in Clarinda and Carnegie while starting my legal career in Dandenong. I spent seven years here with Maurice Blackburn before working away for eight years. It’s wonderful to be back. Feels like home.
What was the first or best concert you attended?
The Darkness at the Palace. A glorious band.
