Woman robbed in broad daylight

By Cam Lucadou-Wells

A woman has been robbed of her handbag and phone in a Dandenong laneway in the middle of the day.

The female attacker has pushed the 25-year-old Dandenong woman and grabbed the items from her in Newton Lane about 1pm on 9 July.

After a scuffle, the victim took chase but couldn’t catch up with the robber who fled along Close Avenue towards Princes Highway, police say.

The handbag contained a wallet and a small amount of cash, Detective Acting Sergeant Kim Alp of Greater Dandenong CIU said.

The robber was described as Caucasian appearance with blonde hair, and wearing a red jacket and black pants.

Any information to Greater Dandenong CIU on 9767 7487 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
