Non-stop fun for kids

Now in its seventh year, the annual City of Greater Dandenong Children’s Festival is celebrating a magical theme.

Families are invited to let their imaginations run wild over the school holidays, with a series of free and low-cost events happening across the city from 22 September to 7 October.

The festival features exciting and interactive programs, activities, performances, workshops, exhibitions and events for the whole family.

The headline event of the Children’s Festival is the Little Day Out for Big Imaginations and is a free family event where everybody is encouraged to let their imaginations run wild. Little Day Out is on Sunday 30 September, from 11am-4pm, at Noble Park’s Ross Reserve.

The events and activities program also features arts and crafts, dancing, sports, fitness, cooking and other outdoor activities promoting health and wellbeing for the entire family.

On Tuesday 25 September there’s a Magical Disco at the Jan Wilson Community Centre as well as a pool party at the Noble Park Aquatic Centre, while on Wednesday 26 September, the Noble Park Community Centre is hosting a free Children’s Spring Gardening Morning. On Thursday 27 September, the Melbourne Ballet School is holding Introduction to Tiny Ballerina Classes (2 to 4-year-olds) and on Friday 28 September, Dandenong Oasis is inviting primary school aged children to enjoy the Splash Zone.

For information on these events (and more!) visit www.greaterdandenong.com. Please note that some activities are drop-in while others require bookings.
