Victoria Police has declared the death of a man found at Lyndale Secondary College on Monday 23 October is not suspicious.

About 7am, a teacher discovered a deceased man at the school’s greenhouse, with Homicide Squad police called in.

After a post-mortem examination that afternoon, a Victoria Police spokesperson said the death was no longer being treated as suspicious.

In a press conference, Victorian Homicide Squad’s Detective Inspector Dean Thomas said the school remained open to students during the investigation.

“We have approached the Department of Education and the principal of the school, and have measures in place to ensure the students don’t go near the scene,” he said.

The Lyndale Secondary College staff member that found the body has spoken to investigators, and has support and counselling to help them move forward from the event.
