Two tobacco shops rammed in Springvale

Victoria Police are investigating an attempted arson attack on a tobacco shop in Springvale.

A grey Mitsubishi Triton ute rammed into a tobacco outlet on Buckingham Avenue about 1.40am on Monday 7 October, police say.

Ten minutes later, the ute rammed a second tobacco shop “in close proximity”.

“Investigators believe the offenders poured a liquid inside and outside the second shop and were unable to ignite it,” a police spokesperson stated.

“The ute fled the scene prior to police arrival.”
