Payout dispute hits Dandenong South manufacturer

Workers at a Dandenong South car parts manufacturer took strike action last week.

Australian Manufacturing Workers Union assistant state secretary Leigh Diehm said workers at aiDair were concerned about their employer’s desire to cap redundancy payouts to 52 weeks.

He said some had uncapped redundancy entitlements.

“Workers are keen to keep them, especially when the industry is so volatile.”

The dispute went before Fair Work Australia yesterday.
