Summerstay blitz on drunk, drugged drivers

Drunk and drug-affected drivers are being targeted in a 24-day, Greater Dandenong-wide police blitz. Operation Summerstay, which started November 16, is taking place in busy thoroughfares as well as ‘back ways’ at all hours and days. Sergeant Brett Shenton of Greater Dandenong highway patrol said he expected up to 500 drivers a day – that’s 12,000 during the operation — would be pulled over for random breath tests.
