EPA staff donned protective suits before tackling the clean-up of an acid spill on Keysborough Road last Tuesday.

A 1000-litre container fell off the back of a truck, tipping a mix of sulphuric and hydrochloric
acids onto the road.

The nearby Nandos and Shell service station stores
were evacuated. There were no injuries.

Emergency services mixed soda
ash into the chemicals to dissipate toxicity and the EPA removed the
container.
