Big bucks for capital works

St John Ambulance Dandenong has a fresh new look, thanks to a Federal Government grant.
Isaacs Labor MP Mark Dreyfus visited the Attenborough Street site on Tuesday 11 July to see the result of his recommendation that the organisation receive $7900 to repaint its hall.
The cash came from the second round of the Stronger Communities Program, which offers between $2500 and $20,000 for capital works to sporting, community and non-profit groups on a matched funding basis.
Mr Dreyfus said the program was a great opportunity to apply for federal funding to build or purchase an item that improved the community’s capacity.
In the program’s first two rounds, Keysborough’s Xinjian Chinese Association of Australia received $9986 to buy iPads and cooking utensils, and the Dandenong and District Netball Association got $5530 to equip a ‘dream room’ at the Ella Athorn Pavilion in Dandenong with audio visual equipment including a television, a projector, chairs, tables and a laptop.
Call Mr Dreyfus on 9580 4651 for more information or make an expression of interest at www.markdreyfus.com.
