AN 11-YEAR-OLD girl who fled her family’s car and spent a night alone on the streets of Dandenong has been located safe and well.
Police said that Rebekah Senanayake of Dandenong was in an upset state when she ran from her parents’ vehicle while parked in Lonsdale Street, Dandenong, at 11pm on 29 December.
She ran down the road and was last seen heading into Scott Street. Rebekah had only been in Australia since 6 December and her family has no other friends or relatives in the area.
Police held grave concerns for Rebekah, who had migrated with her family from Sri Lanka.
She spent a night alone on the streets of Dandenong and walked into Dandenong Police Station on the afternoon of Saturday, 30 December.
