PERHAPS a couple of prodigiously talented Keysborough or St John’s women’s footballers will get their chance to don a Melbourne or Western Bulldogs jersey.
By the time you read this, dreams will either be affirmed or crushed as the AFL was set to host the first women’s draft, where the names were to be read out and the jumpers distributed last night at the MCG.
The most talented female footballers in Australia were selected, and will have the opportunity to play for either the Melbourne Football Club or the Western Bulldogs in a curtain raiser match at Women’s Round – Round 14, on 29 June.
