Youth Week set to entertain

YOUNG people look out – more than a week of action-packed sports and dance activities are coming your way.
The City of Greater Dandenong is hosting a nine-day National Youth Week celebration for the city’s young people between April 14 and 22.
Featured events include the best world music Greater Dandenong has to offer, band performances, hip-hop dancing, sports, indoor soccer competitions, information and education-related activities.
There will also be youth agency open days, a multi-faith tour and Youth Services Expo.
Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea said the week was a great opportunity for young people to show leadership and be part of an organising committee.
“By participating in National Youth Week, young people have an opportunity to showcase their talents in a safe environment,” Cr Chea said.
“They will be rewarded with a formal presentation ceremony that recognises their contributions and celebrates their achievements.
The achievements and contributions of other young people in the city will also be recognised during an awards ceremony.
The week focuses on people aged between 12 and 25 years, but the council said anyone was welcome to be a part of the celebration of the city’s young people.
