ON her tribute screen was ‘‘one day can change everything’’. It was an understated reminder of 13-year-old Shaye Kosky’s tragic death to the 500-plus family, friends, students and teachers at her Bunurong Memorial Park funeral yesterday.
Many mourners wore pink, Shaye’s favourite colour. The same colour as her coffin and as the 13 balloons released skywards, marking each of her tender years.
Shaye’s mother Stacey Brown, father Tony Kosky and older sister Jacinta shared heart-breaking eulogies to their ‘‘princess’’ and ‘‘angel’’ – remembered as a caring, popular animal lover, a little mischievous and a bit of a klutz.
Jacinta, 16, described of her 1000 memories of her ‘‘other half’’, each starting with a smile and ending in tears.
The Dandenong High School student died after being struck by a car outside the school on March 6.
