Balwyn halts Bulls’ charge

NOBLE Park’s Eastern Football League premiership aspirations were dealt a savage blow at Balwyn Park on Saturday when the Bulls went down by 40 points.
Balwyn was ruthless in front of the large crowd – thanks to the absence of AFL football in Melbourne – and dealt Noble Park its first comprehensive defeat of the season.
Trailing by four goals at half-time, the Bulls charged in the third quarter, kicking five goals to two, but the momentum was temporary as Balwyn booted five goals to one in the final term to race away with victory.
Noble Park was well served by Peter O’Brien and Kris Barlow, who kicked three and two goals respectively.
This Saturday, the Bulls have a chance to resurrect a season that is slowly slipping away, against Vermont at Pat Wright Oval.
