VICTORIAN champions in the highest tier, the Dandenong Rangers under-14 boys held aloft the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) Championship title on Friday, beating the previously undefeated Melbourne Tigers 59-45.
The Rangers trailed at half time, but worked hard to outscore the Tigers 18-8 in the third quarter and 16-10 in the last.
Jack Perry top scored with 19 points and Callan Blackley had 16 including 4/5 from the three-point line.
Earlier in the year the Rangers also took out the National Junior Classic and will fly out to Darwin to compete in the Australian Under-14 Club Championship – a weeklong tournament featuring the best junior teams in the country.
