Boy flown to hospital

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition after a collision between two cars in Bangholme this week.
Firefighters from Dandenong and Carrum Downs were first on scene at a collision between two cars at the intersection of Dandenong-Frankston Road and Glasscocks Road in Bangholme on Monday night at 7pm.
The cause is still under investigation, but firefighters found the boy in the back of a Holden Vectra stationwagon suffering from severe trauma to the head.
Paramedics arrived and spent 40 minutes stabilising the boy, and a medical helicopter later flew him to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
State Emergency Service crews and police from the Major Collision Investigation Unit were also on scene.
Drivers in both cars escaped serious injury.
