AUSTRALIA Day celebrations won’t be the only ones happening in Greater Dandenong on 26 January.
Springvale will host free Lunar New Year activities from 9am to 9pm to welcome the Year of the Horse, with the festivities centred on Buckingham Avenue.
Last year, more than 80,000 flocked to the precinct to enjoy cultural performances, food, firecrackers and more.
There’ll be a flag raising ceremony and the national anthem played at 11am, lion and dragon dances, martial arts displays, live bands, games and rides.
The festival is based on the lunar calendar and is celebrated on the first full moon of the Lunar New Year.
Fifteen days of celebration usually follow.
