DANDENONG South’s G-Spot Adult Superstore reopened over the weekend after being ravaged by fire in October last year.
Owner Deborah Bateman said her business had beaten all obstacles to reopen after 10 difficult months following the fire trading out of a temporary room outside her damaged shop front.
“We’ve endured one fire, eight robberies, six moves and one flood since we’ve opened,” Ms Bateman said.
Disappointed by some of the negative views held by community members in relation to her store, Ms Bateman said her only goal was to make people happy.
“I am not trying to exploit anybody or push anything down anyone’s throat,” she said.
Ms Bateman said she was grateful to the customers who had stuck by her throughout the past year.
“For every single person against my store, there are 10 people lining up to support me,” she said. – Melissa Meehan
