14 kids hurt in crash

FOURTEEN children were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the bud in which they were travelling and a car collided in Dandenong yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
Two more people received minor injuries after the bus, which was taking children to a school holiday program activity, and car collided on the Princes Highway near Robinson Street at 10am.
The children, aged between six and 10, were taken to the Dandenong and Monash hospitals with minor injuries including bumps and bruises.
A police spokeswoman would not release any more information about the children until the parents were notified.
The driver of the car was not injured but is being questioned by Dandenong Police.
Woman killed

AN 80-YEAR-OLD Dandenong woman died in a two-car collision in Dandenong North yesterday.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision, which happened at 11am on Gladstone Road, south of Carlton Road. Police said a silver Nissan 200SX Coupe was travelling south on Gladstone Road and a gold Toyota Sedan collided. The 80-year-old Dandenong woman driving the Toyota died at the scene. The 22-year-old Mulgrave man driving Nissan was conveyed by ambulance to The Alfred hospital and is in a stable condition. There were no other passengers in either vehicle.
The Major Collision Investigation Unit attended at the scene and police will prepare a report for the coroner. Witnesses are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
