Dandy hearts beat true

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

WITH beating hearts, the City of Greater Dandenong has been named as a finalist in the Heart Foundation Local Government Awards.
A finalist in the ‘councils with populations more than 25,000’ category, Dandenong was a ‘stand-out’ according to Heart Foundation Victoria CEO Diana Heggie.
“The City of Greater Dandenong has been selected as a finalist for their commitment to improve heart health through creative initiatives – and should be congratulated,” Ms Heggie explained.
In its 23rd year the awards look at each councils development of policies and strategies, sporting and recreational opportunities and municipal sites which support health and well-being.
