Marathon swimmer is awards last guest

LONG-DISTANCE swimmer Tammy Van Wisse will be the guest speaker at the next Premier Regional Business Awards breakfast.
The 25 November Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce event will be the last one before a gala celebration of the awards’ 25th and final year in March.
Tammy started her formal swimming training at age 11, swam her first marathon from Beaumaris to Frankston – 20 kilometres – in 1986.
In 1996 she became the first person to swim Bass Strait, has set record times around the world and in 2001 became the only person to swim the entire Murray River.
This year’s breakfasts are profiling previous award winners and rising stars from the region.
The Chamber committee is finalising its new-look awards program for next year, but confirmed breakfasts would continue to recognise and celebrate outstanding businesses in the Greater Dandenong area.
