Scoring their own goals

More players than ever participated in an annual Refugee Week soccer tournament in Keysborough.
Thirty-one teams took part in the Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre (SMRC) event at Springers Leisure Centre in Keysborough on Saturday 9 July.
SMRC partnered with City of Greater Dandenong, Monash Health and ERMHA to present the day, now in its fifth year.
New arrivals, businesses and organisations fielded teams. Kazeroun Victory won the men’s competition, Ace B took out the women’s division, and United Boys won the youth competition.
Spectators said the atmosphere was electric and the competition was fierce.
There were also soccer and circus clinics for children.
