Feet after school feat

By Casey Neill

Can you put your best foot forward and shake it all about?
Then Yarraman Oaks Primary needs you for its Hokey Pokey Australian record attempt.
The Noble Park school will launch a month-long health focus at its Walktober Fun Fest on Wednesday 5 October.
Families can check out healthy activities and games, community information stalls, free activities and food, a jumping castle and more from 3pm to 6pm.
At 4pm, everyone will limber up and Hokey Pokey in an attempt to break the Australian record for the largest group of people performing the dance.
Yarraman Oaks Primary School student well-being co-ordinator Elissa Sewell set the current record of 467 people at her former school.
She said that with only 180 pupils, Yarraman Oaks needed parents, secondary school students and kindergarten kids to help.
“This event is open to the wider community, and we would love them to join us!” she said.
With support from the community, the school raised $770 to pay for record officials to attend the group dance.
Yarraman Oaks Primary School is at 27 Liege Avenue, Noble Park. Call 9792 4406 to get involved.
