Armed bandits leave Maccas empty-handed

Machete-wielding would-be thieves terrorised a cleaner at Springvale McDonald’s.
Greater Dandenong CIU Sergeant Dean Hedge said the armed bandits entered the store at Osborne and Westall avenues about 2.30am on Monday 16 January.
They were dressed in black, including black balaclavas, and carrying the large knives.
Sgt Hedge said the pair approached a 20-year-old cleaner and demanded cash from the till, which he was unable to deliver.
One then forced the victim into a rear storeroom at knifepoint while the other checked for cash.
They fled on foot, empty-handed.
One was described as Caucasian and the other was possibly African or Islander in appearance.
Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information.
