Bullying claim rejected

By Casey Neill

Greater Dandenong Council has rejected claims that it suspended a senior staffer over bullying allegations.
The Journal received an anonymous letter alleging an investigation was underway and an independent review had occurred.
Council CEO John Bennie said that as a normal part of council business and in seeking opportunities for improvement within the organisation, regular practice reviews were undertaken.
“There is a review underway and directors are involved in this process,” he said.
“One director is currently on personal leave, however has not been suspended nor has there been any formal complaints that have been lodged against that person.”
