They said six men aged in their twenties were in a garage at a home on the street about 9.55pm on Tuesday 2 May.
They believe one man was leaving via a laneway when several shots were fired at the premises.
A 22-year-old Keysborough man was shot in the chest and died at the scene.
A Keysborough man, 23, received a gunshot wound to the arm and a 22-year-old, also from Keysborough, received a gunshot wound to the leg.
They were both taken to hospital in a stable condition.
