Two men knocked a Springvale shopper to the ground and stole her handbag.
Police said the victim exited a bus on Redhill Road, Springvale, about 6.10pm on Sunday 25 June.
Two men pulled up behind her in a car, got out and approached.
One grabbed her handbag and she struggled to hold onto it. She fell to the ground and struck her right elbow and face, causing bruising and grazing to her cheek and lip.
The thief succeeded in snatching the bag, while his counterpart stole clothing from the woman’s shopping jeep.
Both men then left the scene in the vehicle they arrived in.
The woman was not able to provide a description of the men or the car. Police said it was dark at the time of the incident, and it unfolded very quickly.
