Pencil pals were drawn together

A stroke of a pencil began Springvale couple Kok Leong Lam and Hoe Loo Yeoh’s 60-year love story.
The duo met in Malaysia when by chance Kok Leong befriended Hoe’s older brother.
Both friends had an interest in lead pencil drawing and while sketching together Kok Leong met Hoe.
Kok Leong would make up excuses to come and draw, just so he could bump into his future bride.
They were married on 15 September 1957 and recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary at their Springvale Aged Care Facility.
They moved to Australia six years ago to retire and spend more time with their children and seven grandchildren and have been active members of the Springvale community.
