THE Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce is celebrating a diamond 60th anniversary in 2007.
This year marks the chamber’s 60th year servicing the Greater Dandenong business community and the occasion was celebrated at the chamber’s Annual General Meeting last week.
President Renae MacNamara was returned for her second year in the hot seat but vice president Phillip Smith has stood down due to work commitments.
In his place is LINK Employment and Training general manager Stephen Dunn.
Mr Dunn, evidently excited about his new role in the chamber’s milestone year, said he hoped to utilise his five years of experience with LINK to build stronger links between the Greater Dandenong business community and local schools and youth training organisations.
Mr Dunn has been on the executive committee of the chamber for four years.
Peter Thompson was returned as treasurer and Deanne Johnson will not only return as executive officer but was specially thanked for her hard work by Ms MacNamara.
