Man cut from crash

FIREFIGHTERS cut a man free from his rolled-over wrecked car after it collided with a power pole in Dandenong South on the weekend.
The Dandenong Country Fire Authority’s rescue unit attended the incident at the intersection of Dawn Avenue and Kirkham Road at 11.45pm on Saturday night to find a man trapped in his Mitsubishi Verada, which had rolled onto its side and come to rest on the footpath.
The amazing rescue involved firefighters cutting and then peeling back the roof to free the man.
Firefighers on the scene said the impact of the car and power pole collision had dislodged a power line from a nearby house.
Police blocked off the intersection as a safety precaution.
The man was tended to at the scene by paramedics and later taken to the Dandenong Hospital.
