Fair to meet all tastes

A SRI Lankan Buddhist temple will raise vital funds by holding an extravagant Asian food fair for the community on 29 April.
The Dhamma Sarana Buddhist temple in Keysborough was established in 1988 and provides a range of religious services to its community.
In return, the temple and its monks rely on the community to help it raise funds so it can continue its lengthy tradition of aiding the Buddhist community.
Dhamma Sarana committee member Prabhati Milton said services were varied.
“For example, when a Buddhist person dies, the family turns to the Buddhist monks for religious rights and funeral services,” she said.
“When a son or daughter is about to sit the VCE examination, it is to these Buddhist monks that Buddhist parents turn for blessings.
“When a new baby is born to a Buddhist family it is to these temples that they bring the new baby to be blessed.”
The Asian food fair will be held on Sunday 29 April at Carwatha College, Browns Road, Noble Park, from 10am to 3pm.
A range of spicy Sri Lankan and Indian delicacies, exotic Thai cuisine and mouth-watering desserts will be on offer.
