Caught in the under-tow

THE Ethical Standards Department is investigating three police officers from the Greater Dandenong Police Service over alleged inappropriate use of the traffic allocation of tow trucks.
As a result of the investigation the police officers were charged with criminal matters and faced the Magistrates’ court. One member pleaded guilty and the other two members were acquitted.
The member who was found guilty resigned from Victoria Police shortly after his court appearance.
The other two members faced disciplinary charges, with one member being dismissed and the other member receiving a reprimand.
