THE Good Guys Dandenong is giving customers a chance to help their local community.
They have just launched a Local Giving Program Token Box, an innovative token-based program to raise money for different charities.
Proprietor of The Good Guys Dandenong Allen Garb said the store automatically returned a percentage from each transaction to a number of nominated not-for-profit organisations.
“We are now inviting our customers to join in and have a say as to where the funding is distributed. Our customers will be given a heart-shaped token at the checkout which can be placed into the token box for either of our nominated cause partners,” he said.
“At the end of each three month period, the nominated charities will receive a donation reflecting the number of tokens each has received.
“We are proud to announce that our first two beneficiaries appearing on the token box are long time partner SEADS (South East Alcohol and Drugs Services) and Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food Australia. They are two really worthwhile organisations.”
SEADS director Tim Walsh said he was excited to be part of such a unique program where the customer is an interactive part in the donation process.
“The new token box highlights the vital role we play in the Dandenong community and our work we do managing issues relating to alcohol and drugs,” he said.
“The funds from The Good Guys Dandenong go towards an art therapy program.”
The introduction of the Local Giving Program Token Box coincides with the launch of The Good Guys Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation which will see a percentage from every transaction made donated to local community organisations.
