LIGHTHOUSE Christian College students were joined by three life-sized puppets with a special message.
Kylie, Dean and Melissaare the stars of McDonald’sCamp Quality Puppets program, which teaches students to bemore supportive of children living with cancer and other serious illnesses.
The puppets took to the stage on 6 August to show their young audience some of the more confronting realities of cancer such as hair loss and amputation.
But the real messages of the day were tolerance, acceptance and compassion, with the students learning that laughter is often the best medicine.
The program’s Victorian co-ordinator Ella Pye said Kylie, Dean and Melissa were making a difference in an area of great importance.
“Visiting local schools like Lighthouse Christian College allows us to educate students through a unique brand of fun therapy and interactivity,” she said.
