A COLOURFUL wind turbine takes pride of place at Dandenong South’s new Home Quarter.
The Green Power Tower at the new homemaker centre at the corner of Frankston-Dandenong Road and the Dandenong Southern Bypass was launched on 5 December.
The three colourful eddyGT wind turbines sit atop a 14-metre tall steel base tower and the energy generated will help to offset the Home Quarter Dandenong’s car park lighting costs.
Richard Batten from the developer, Fantastic Holdings, said he wanted to include a highly-visible green statement on the corner block. The centre will also capture rainwater for use on its garden.
The 12,000 square metre bulky goods retail centre is expected to generate about 60 jobs for the Dandenong area.
It will be home to Officeworks’ largest store in Victoria, set to open on 15 December with celebrations from 10am to 2pm.
The Home Quarter Dandenong is at 55-67 Frankston-Dandenong Road, Dandenong South.
