MONEY Come Back produced a faultless display when he secured his 11th career win on Thursday at Sandown Park.
Money Come Back was fair to begin from box two, however showed great courage when splitting between Supersonic Hawk and Dewana Babe to find the early lead.
Despite a late charge from Dewana Babe, Money Come Back held on to win by a length in a swift 34.21.
The win came as no surprise to Devon Meadows’ trainer Gus Selkrig after his kennel’s recent spike in form.
“Coming into the night I was quite confident of his chances – he likes to be out in front and dictate the terms and that’s exactly what he did.
“The whole kennel has been on fire and these two are no exceptions, they have been in a purple patch of form,” said Selkrig.
Money Come Back’s recent run of good form has been impressive, even more so after some serious issues earlier in his career.
“He’s had more than his fair share of injuries throughout his career, it’s a real credit that he’s still racing.”
Just two races later, Sam Harper claimed the 11th race of the night, completing a winning double for Selkrig.
“Overall I’m very impressed with both of them, especially Sam Harper.”
Over the last couple of months, Money Come Back and Sam Harper have travelled around Victoria and have endured ongoing success.
“The last four times these two have been to the track together they’ve won.”
Sam Harper has thrived since having joined the kennel in December, and Selkrig believes it’s due to him building relationships with his new kennel mates.
“Since he’s arrived here he’s won five of his nine starts, I think it’s having the company of other greyhounds … really seems to bring the best out of him.”
