Springvale Snow Fest

The streets will be filled with snow, rides, activities, stalls and performances. Fireworks will conclude the event.

  • Corner Buckingham and Balmoral avenues, Springvale. Sunday 24 July, noon to 7pm. Snow play area entry is $4 and family rides are priced from $2.


Food swap

The Keysborough Res School Community Swap meets on the fourth Saturday of the month.
Members swap home-grown produce, jams, preserves, baked goodies, seedlings, seeds, cuttings, eggs, books, tools and more.

  • Keysborough Resurrection School’s productive gardens next to Keysborough Freedom Club. Enter via the driveway next to the retirement village at 414-418 Corrigan Road, Keysborough. Saturday 23 July, 10am to 11am. BYO mug for a free cuppa.


Rhythm of the Weave

Tim Gresham is an unusual tapestry artist.
He’s a man in a predominantly female field and his work is abstract, looking to minimalism rather than figuration and representation.

  • Heritage Hill Museum and Historical Gardens, 66 McCrae Street, Dandenong. From Thursday 28 July to Wednesday 31 August, 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday, and noon to 4pm on the first Sunday of the month.


Home and Art Prize

This free exhibition recognises the creative talents of artists who arrived in Australia as refugees or asylum seekers.

  • Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre, corner Walker and Robinson streets, Dandenong. Until Saturday 30 July, 11am to 5pm weekdays, 11am to 3pm Saturdays.


Get your hands dirty

Friends of Fotheringham Reserve hold an environmental awareness day on the fourth Sunday of every second month.
Activities include water watch, planting indigenous seedlings, weed control, seed collecting, nature walks and barbecues.

  • Fotheringham Reserve, Pyke Steet, Dandenong. Sunday 24 July, 10am to noon.
