Concrete machines theft probed

THIEVES stole a truck and three concreting machines worth $140,000 from a Dandenong South construction site last week.
Greater Dandenong CIU detectives are appealing for help – particularly from tradies – to locate the machines and those responsible.
The thieves took the finishing trowels, two ‘Allen’-branded and one ‘Wacker’, and a white Hino tray truck with the registration XJH 966 from the Rodeo Drive site between 4.30pm on Sunday 14 July and 5am the following day.
Detective Senior Constable Kane Taylor believes the thieves will try to sell the machines to someone in the concreting business.
“These machines have no other purpose and are of no use to anyone else other than someone in the concreting business,” he said.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the machines or knows of a business acquiring new machines matching the stolen brands, Allen and Wacker.”
Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information.
