DANDENONG will farewell community man Kenneth Allan this Friday.
Mr Allan was a Dandenong councillor from 1980-1988 and served as mayor in 1985-86.
He died on Saturday 27 July just a few days shy of his 86th birthday.
Son Ian Allan said he only knew him as a father.
“But he was a bit of a mover and shaker in council, apparently,” he said.
“I think in different environments he became a different person.
“He was one of those councillors that was actually really concerned for his community and he turned up to community events.
“There’s a lot of ethnic groups that he was very close to. I think they quite loved him.”
Trinity Uniting Church in Dandenong will host a service for Mr Allan at 2pm this Friday, 4 August.
