Police probe torched cars

GREATER Dandenong detectives are appealing for information about two stolen cars torched on 18 August.
About 5am, CFA crews extinguished a fire engulfing a Toyota LandCruiser with no registration plates in Greens Road, Dandenong.
Greater Dandenong CIU Acting Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said the vehicle was stolen from the Coles car park on Princes Highway, Dandenong, between 9.30am and 10.30pm on 17 August.
At 10.18pm on 18 August, the CFA attended a fire that destroyed a blue 2002 Ford XR6 sedan in Clarke Road, Springvale South.
The owner hadn’t realised the vehicle was missing from his home in Vanessa Court, Oakleigh South, until police notified him of the blaze.
Police said thieves took the car some time after 6pm.
Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information.
