RESURRECTION School in Keysborough has an extra $3000 and Keysborough Primary School $2000, thanks to Parkmore Shopping Centre’s School Rewards program.
For six weeks, customers could allocate every dollar they spent as points towards one of 12 participating schools. Dingley Primary School took out the $6000 first prize, with its Keysborough counterparts in second and third place.
The centre plans to run the campaign again next year. Call centre management on 9798 9494 for more information on participating.

POLLIES are at it again over national broadband network plans – but this time the debate close to home.
Isaacs and Hotham MPs Mark Dreyfus and Clare O’Neil last week said the Federal Government had “pulled the plug” on the fibre rollout planned for 7400 Keysborough and Noble Park homes in the coming months under the former Labor Government.
Were you looking forward to the planned internet connection upgrade? Or are you happy with the “fibre to the node” plan? Email journal@starnewsgroup.com.au.

A MAGISTRATE and police prosecutor struggled to keep straight faces as the case of an Easter egg thief was laid out in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court last week.
The accused pleaded guilty to stealing two cloth bags, which she filled with her $95.30 bounty of Easter eggs and chocolates as festive gifts for her son.
“Are there any submissions for the prosecution…on behalf of the Easter Bunny?” the magistrate said.

MELBOURNE Cup Eve at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court is more of a canter than a gallop.
A week before, the courts were bursting with action, lawyers complaining of the backlog and their clients languishing in police cells.
Last Monday, the court list was brief, prosecutors and magistrates twiddling thumbs and there was barely a barrister to be found.
Coincidence, or just a Cup Day weekend aberration?

DANDENONG’S Heritage Hill is set to star on the small screen.
The site was closed on Thursday 7 November for filming for ABC series The Doctor Blake Murder Mysteries starring Craig McLachlan in the title role.
Its interpretive kitchen was used as a feature location.
