CONSUMER Affairs Victoria has issued an alert against a Dandenong-based furniture business.
The consumer watchdog said it had received a “disproportionately high” number of customer complaints about Belmo Furniture since it opened in 2011.
“They commonly reported that Belmo Furniture has not supplied the correct goods or that the goods supplied were not of acceptable quality,” the statement said.
Consumer Affairs Victoria said it had encouraged the business to improve its practices since July but had not observed a decline in inquiries and disputes.
It advised consumers to be “cautious” about buying furniture from the business.
